What Else?

Horton Park Children's Farm is closed for re-development

We have had a lot of new arrivals at the farm this year, these cute rabbits are just some of them. We also have chicks, kids, piglets, lambs and guinea pigs to mention just a few.

Come and stroke a chick and cuddle a rabbit in our special children`s petting corner, feel how soft the baby rabbits are when they sit on your lap and snuffle into your hand.

Come and feed our muscovy ducklings. They are always hungry and will be pleased to see you. You can see their mother and father as well but they are not so greedy.

There are also feeding stations for some of the other animals.

An unexpected treat was in store for some of our visitors when they were able to watch this foal being born. They were on a tractor ride when the driver noticed what was happening and stopped to allow everyone to watch.

We have been very busy with various building projects on the farm. You may have spotted the Billy Goats Gruff Bridge in the first field. The goats and sheep love clip clopping across it. There is also a much larger pig village to accommodate the sows with their young piglets before they are moved to the fields.

More exciting play equipment is constantly being added to our already fantastic play area, so make sure you check it out.

There is lots going on throughout the year as well as new animals and new play equipment so keep an eye on this site to find out any new activities that will be going on this year.

All Year Round

Enjoy the fun all year round on the Farm. Come and meet the  20 year old tortoise called Woody, a friend for George (who we now know is really Georgina) who is now 32 years old. They have a new home in the Rabbit Warren.

Come and see the rheas, Rhianna and Rio, their young family has grown now but hopefully they wll raise another another family later this year. Rheas look like small ostriches and they look very comical when they run.

Tractor and trailer rides are available most of day around the farm. It can be a bit bumpy so hold on to your hat.

Try out the maze, see if you can be the first to reach the tower in the center, it`s not as easy as it looks.

If the weather is wet, don`t be put off, there are plenty of all weather attractions to enjoy. There is an enormous play Barn where the children can play and mum/dad/granny can sit and enjoy a cup of tea and a piece of home made cake. Lots of the outside toddler play equipment is under cover, as is a large sand barn for the children to enjoy. There is also a small climbing hill for the young adventurers to attempt.

Tea Room

You can enjoy a well earned refreshing cup of tea or cappuchino in our pleasant tearoom throughout the day. Hot and cold meals can be obtained at a very reasonable price,  also sandwiches, snacks, cold drinks and a special children`s menu.

If you prefer to bring your own food then there are lots of picnic tables throughout the farm where you can comfortably enjoy your picnic.
