October 2009
Well - we have had an up and down time this Autumn. Thank goodness we are back to normal again and my people friends are coming in to see us. I've hopped in and had a look in the Hallowe'en Barn that Leslie and the others are building. It's HORRIBLE! There are witches and ghosts in there and even a skeleton called Louis. I had a chat to him. He looks pretty dreadful but actually he's quite friendly. The staff look normal at the moment, but I remember last year that they all dressed up in spooky hallowe'en clothes. Not nice at all! And there were awful screams from the children in the barn - but then they ran round to have another look. Very strange! Still I've had a hop around the rest of the farm. At least the animals aren't going to dress up, and the playbarn doesn't look nasty so my rabbit friends and the littlest visitors won't be scared.
August 2009
Since March there has been a lot happening and changing on the farm, I have seen many new and exciting play areas being built all over the farm, there are big play areas for the older children and smaller play areas for the little ones, I have enjoyed hopping around on them all in the morning while everyone else is still fast asleep and take my word for it they are all fantastic and good fun to play on with your friends but don't let the farmer know I was playing on all of the toys as he won't be happy that I was out of my rabbit run.
Although I have been having lots of fun in the farm I have had to say goodbye to many dear friends who have left Horton Park Children's Farm, though with every friend that leaves another one arrives so I am able to say hello to many new friends who have joined. One of my new friends is Bourneville the goat he is very friendly and talks a lot, Bourneville loves to talk about the competition he was recently involved in where he won first place, everyone on the farm is very proud of Bourneville's achievement. There is also a new female pig on the farm called Glossy star who was very grumpy when she first arrived but she has now settled in and talks to all the other animals.
There are lots of tug of war games and massive skipping challenges going on at the farm which are really fun and the children and staff are having lots of fun pulling each other over and jumping all around.
I can't wait to see and hear everyone playing happily together on all the new toys we have at the farm this summer and I am looking forward to everyone saying hello to all my new friends.
March continued
Everything on the farm has been so exciting and there are a lot of changes going on this year, myself and my rabbits friends are looking forward to hopping around the farm to see what has changed. We like to see that there are lots of different children visiting the farm every day coming to stroke and cuddle all the big and small rabbits.
We seem to be getting more and more baby lambs each week and the farm soon shall be covered from top to bottom with lots of lambs hopping happily around the fields this coming summer. Our new baby piglets are doing fantastic and all the children have enjoyed giving them a scratch behind their ears also we have had a lot of children doing brilliant impressions of our little piglets.
We have said goodbye to Alannahs' babies but we are sure that they have gone to a very nice new home where lots of children can take good care of them. It is again time to say goodbye to more of our baby rabbits who will be going up for sale around 4th April 2009 but we are sure that they will all be going to loving and caring homes.
March 2009
Now spring time has arrived again we have lots of excitement and fun to share about Horton Park Farm. As we have lots of baby lambs covering the farm, many smelly piglets rolling in the mud, new baby rabbits looking sweeter than the ones before, i will stop there though as i will ruin the fun and excitement of finding out what new baby animals we have on the farm the year, come down this half term to see what new and exciting changes we have on the farm.
Alannah and Simba had five baby rabbits at the end of last year, which are hopping around happily with each other and are always happy to meet new friends we hope you came down to the farm to say hello as sadly it is time for Horton Farm to say goodbye to them, as from Saturday 14th March we are going to be selling them to loving families that come to the farm, this is good though as they will be going to new families where the children can give them lots of love, care and attention where they can live happily.
Even though we are saying goodbye to our little rabbits we are saying a big hello to our new born baby lambs, which are running and bouncing happily around the fields, with more arriving every day.
We had to call the vet in this week as one of the male alpaca has become a little ill, thankfully he isn't too ill and the vet has prescribed some pain killers which will clear up his illness quickly and he shall be with his other alpaca friends soon.
We have been waiting a long time for our BIG surprise to be delivered and it is finally here!! We can't wait for it to be fitted and ready for all the children to play together. It has been a long time waiting for the new play equipment but don't panic it won't be long until we have it set up and ready for everyone to use, as from Thursday 12th March the builders are coming to fit the play equipment and it will definitely be ready before the Easter holiday but we will keep you posted for the exact date it will be ready.
Hello, I just thought that I would tell you what has been happening this week.
The farm is very busy with lots and lots of children coming to see us, the children are doing special things all week like, cuddling wriggly happy worms, cuddling baby chicks and putting their hands in a mystery box to feel what is in there, they have to find out which one is the scorpion, and where is the dead frog and the lizards poo, the playgrounds are very busy and the children can get very muddy if they want to. the tractor is going round and round the farm all day long
