Horton Park Childrens Farm

Group Visits

Schools have been choosing Horton Park Farm for their summer outing for many years. Some schools come regularly, knowing that the children will enjoy a wonderful day out and the teachers are able to relax in the safe environment provided.

A prior visit by staff can be arranged so that the children are able to take advantage of all the farm has to offer and give the teacher the opportunity of linking the day out with their curriculum.

An experienced Guide will take you around the farm, telling the children about the various animals and answering their questions. They will be encouraged to climb in with the rabbits, stroke some of our smaller animals and come close to some of our large animals, all adding to the days enjoyment. A worksheet can also be provided.

A trailer ride around the farm is included for school parties on school days.

There is a large Play Barn for the children where they will be allowed to play for 20 minutes  during your visit. Times will need to be booked on arrival.

You will be provided with a base for the day where you can leave your picnic. There are many pleasant picnic areas, some under cover if you choose and  we have many all weather facilities should the weather be less than kind.

It is also a fun place to visit for our younger children. Nurseries and Playgroups are well catered for, as apart from the animals to enjoy there are lots of play equipment for this age group, including an under cover sand barn and all weatherplay area. They will also have a free session in the main Playbarn so wet days are not a problem. Unfortunately we are unable to provide a guide for this group.

Weekend and holiday groups such as cubs, brownies and mother and toddler groups are made very welcome. Unfortunately  we are unable to offer a guide, however the farm staff will always be on hand should the need arise.
